If you are planning to live in, or visit, the Philippines, then you will probably want to rent/buy a place to stay/live. Perhaps, you are looking to purchase some property as an investment. Whatever your reason, this page is dedicated to help you find homes, apartments, condos, or timeshares for rent, for sale, rent to own, etc…
As a foreigner, you are not legally allowed to own property in your name. There are ways for you to purchase property, but we’ll talk about that later.
One piece of good news is that you are allowed to own condominiums. With that being said, it is important to note that there is a restriction on how many condos you are allowed to own in a single condominium complex. Unfortunately, I do not remember the exact percentage.
Many people try to evade the legal restriction by putting property in the name of a Filipino. Many will put it in the name of a friend, spouse or girlfriend/boyfriend. The smart ones will have this person sign a contract, but I have heard that those are not always a perfect solution and many have lost their property without compensation.
